ARMORED FRESH participates in ‘CES’ for two consecutive years with self-developed ‘plant-based cheese’

- The company focused on researching and developing their plant-based cheese in order to improve the unnatural texture of many existing vegan cheeses. As well as improving the plant-based cheese to have the perfect ‘melting properties.’

ARMORED FRESH will present yet another one of their plant-based cheese products at CES 2023, which runs from January 5th to 8th (local time), in the ‘Food Tech’ section.

The technology behind ARMORED FRESH’s plant-based cheese is expected to receive great attention at the convention as it was selected as one of the five trends for this year, based on their performance at the CES 2022.

The product unveiled at CES 2022, plant-based cheese cubes, is now being sold in more than 200 large discount stores in New York, US., and the cheese is getting a sensational response.

The plant-based cheese has a taste and flavor as good as that of animal cheese, as well as a soft and chewy texture. Therefore, the company has been successful in completely overturning the prejudice in the existing market that ‘vegan cheese is hard and brittle’.

ARMORED FRESH, which has focused on quality improvement and variety diversification even after entering large marts in New York, plans to continue its position as a K-Food Tech company by succeeding in developing their own plant-based sliced cheese products that are popular in the North American market.

The American Slices feature a soft, chewy texture and high-level flavor.

ARMORED FRESH has paid attention to their plant-based cheese’s ‘melting properties’ to further improve the unnatural texture, one of the biggest challenges in the existing vegan cheese market. Melting properties, which refers to the degree of melting when heat is applied, has been considered difficult to realize technically with vegan cheese.

Nevertheless, for improved product quality that is comparable to regular cheese, ARMORED FRESH started their own research and development, and as a result, created plant-based cheese with perfect melting properties.

At CES 2023, ARMORED FRESH will set up a booth on the TECH EAST side of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) exhibition hall.

At their booth, the company will give out samples of grilled cheese in order to promote the product competitiveness and utilization of plant-based sliced cheese.

The lineup of plant-based sliced cheese at ARMORED FRESH will expand to include cheddar, pepper jack, and mozzarella, which will be released soon.

Oh Kyung-ah, CEO of ARMORED FRESH, said, “It is very meaningful to be able to participate in ‘CES 2023’ once again with plant-based sliced cheese, which is in high demand in the North American market. We will do our best to expand our global business beyond New York, where we are currently located, to the rest of the United States and Europe.”
