Food tech company Armored Fresh (CEO Oh Kyung-ah) has recently launched a new product called ‘American Slices,’ which is a plant-based cheese that perfectly embodies melting properties. Moreover, the cheese can be found at more than 100 large marts in New York, USA.

Armored Fresh's newly released ‘American Slices’ are the second product released by the company after its first product, ‘Cheese Cube.’ The ‘Cheese Cube’ debuted in New York in September last year. The ‘American Slices’ were first unveiled at CES 2023 held in January this year, and it was developed for consumers in North America who often enjoy simple meals using sliced cheese, such as toast and sandwiches.
The ‘American Slices’ feature a soft, chewy texture and high-quality flavor. In particular, through continuous research and development, Armored Fresh has perfected the cheese’s "melting properties," which means the degree to which the cheese reacts to heat. This, in turn, improves the taste and texture of the plant-based cheese.
Armored Fresh, which has introduced high-quality products that are comparable to animal cheese, plans to continue its aggressive global move by expanding its category with the launch of its new product. Currently, ‘American Slices’ are newly opened in large discount stores across Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York, and have started selling mainly at large stores specializing in famous groceries such as Key Foods, Met Fresh, C Town, and City Acres.
Armored Fresh plans to focus on expanding to stores across the U.S. with ‘Cheese Cube’ and ‘American Slices’. The company will also start selling its products on its official online store and Amazon, in order to expand its contact with global consumers.
Meanwhile, Armored Fresh has begun to advertise its new product by renewing its Billboard advertising design in Times Square, New York, so as to highlight the ‘American Slices.’ The advertisement perfectly depicts the image of the plant-based cheese’s melting properties based on its patented technology. As well as how it realistically expresses cheese flowing down between toast.
Armored fresh’s overseas team leader (Sara Jo) said, "The American Slices have great flavor and texture, as well as it being an excellent product that is not lacking in completeness compared to animal cheese. We will introduce a variety of flavors and ingredients to stimulate the global market, starting with American Slices."
