YANGYOO has established ARMORED FRESH, a U.S. subsidiary, and developed various "plant-based cheese" products to enter the global alternative food market. As YANGYOO’s fusion brand “YOUNG MAN DDUK” is a vegetable rice cake producer, ARMORED FRESH has the knowledge they need to enter their products to the alternative food market. The plan is to target the global market and consumers with plant-based cheese, which has an improved flavor in comparison to other vegan alternatives, as well as added nutrients to target both health and taste.
"ARMORED FRESH's Plant-based Cheese" is characterized by using ARMORED FRESH's own formula, which includes vegan milk extracted from almonds instead of other dairy replacements as its main ingredient. Depending on the product, ARMORED FRESH’s plant-based cheese may contain as much as 20% protein, without the need for gluten, eggs, or dairy products.
The company will first release their plant-based cheese, which will come in the form of six varieties, including sliced, shredded, cubed, spread, camembert, and burrata. Moreover, as many as eight flavors will be launched, such as plain, strawberry, blueberry, citron, garlic herb, spicy jalapenos, injeolmi, salted caramel, and chocolate. Afterwards, the company plans to expand these categories to include vegan yoghurt and vegan ice cream in order to give their customers more non-dairy options.
Andrew, CEO of ARMORED FRESH, a U.S. subsidiary of YANGYOO, said, "We have made 100% plant-based cheese to protect the environment, animals, and to create a sustainable future society. We have succeeded in developing plant-based cheese that is superior in both taste and nutrition."
Meanwhile, "ARMORED FRESH's Vegan Cheese" will officially participate in the first food tech section at CES 2022 in Las Vegas early next month in recognition of its product competitiveness and innovative technology. YANGYOO said it will focus on entering the U.S. market and full-fledged ESG management, starting with plant-based cheese.
