Food tech company YANGYOO will participate in the "Food Technology" section of the world's largest consumer electronics fair "CES 2022," which is to be held in Las Vegas in January next year. It is the first time a Korean company is able to attend the fair and target the global vegan market.

The "Food Technology" section of CES 2022, in which YANGYOO will be participating, has newly been established to showcase the new growth engine of the food industry that will lead future food. YANGYOO will participate in recognition of its product competitiveness and innovative technology of "Plant-based Cheese" developed by its U.S. subsidiary "ARMORED FRESH." Following the U.S.'s ‘Impossible Foods’, which received great attention as a substitute meat at CES 2019, Armored Fresh is expected to attract great attention in the global market with their plant-based food.

"ARMORED FRESH Plant-based Cheese," which YANGYOO will unveil at CES 2022, features both taste and nutrition that vegan cheese has not solved through its own fermentation technology. In particular, the plant-based cheese produced by Armored Fresh contains vegetable protein milk, which is fermented in the same process as dairy cheese. This gives it a perfect flavor, much like regular cheese. In addition, it contains almost the same level of protein as animal cheese (up to 20% per 100g), so you can enjoy both the taste and healthy benefits of the plant-based cheese.

Various shapes and flavors have been developed so that you can choose according to your preference. A total of six types, including sliced, shredded, cubed, spread, camembert, and burrata, offer eight flavors, including plain, strawberry, blueberry, citron, garlic herb, spicy jalapenos, injeolmi, salted caramel, and chocolate.

At the event, YANGYOO will set up a booth on the Tech West side (FOOD TECHNOLOGY section). Considering it is ARMORED FRESH’s first time to showcase themselves on the international stage, their biggest goal is to deliver their brand message. In addition to the chance to taste the various products, those visiting the booth can also participate in a participatory event. The event will have the players scan a QR code at the front of the booth, and become a hero who saves the earth and environment by completing a simple mission. Furthermore, to maintain a safe environment for those stopping by, the booth will be equipped for people to wash their hands, use hand sanitizers, and follow basic quarantine rules for visitors.

Meanwhile, YANGYOO will start operating in the domestic and global markets with the aim of attracting investment in the first quarter of 2022, starting with participation in CES 2022. Early next year, it plans to launch products using vegan cheese through its own brands, YOUNG MAN DDUK and SPACEMAN PIZZA.

An official from YANGYOO said, "It is very meaningful to participate in the new food tech section for the first time in Korea at CES and introduce ARMORED FRESH vegan cheese for the first time," adding, "We expect vegan cheese to attract global attention like Impossible Foods, which was a big issue as an alternative meat at CES."
